Newer Kuiu Bags on 2016 Frame?

What changed that requires a buckle kit on the newer bags for the older frames?

I have a 2016 Frame and 3200 bag and just ordered a couple more bags, is it a pain? should I look into a newer frame and suspension?

It is my understanding that the attachment to the shoulder straps is different. The newer shoulder straps have small buckles on them for the load lifter straps to attach to vs how the older load lifter straps thread through the slider type buckle. This is where the conversion kit comes into play. I'm not aware of any other attachment changes. I don't think the frame has changed in how the bags attach, but not 100% sure on this.

Just call Kuiu customer service and tell them which frame you have and what bag you want to attach. They have two different option adapter kits that will make them compatible. The new bags with the kit actually are faster to attach and detach because of the buckles all the way around.

I just bought a 2200 Icon Pro bag for my older 2015 frame. All that you change out is a few buckles. It takes about 5 minutes but makes a huge difference on how the bag fits the frame.

Up until I changed my old bag for the new one, I was a little disappointed with the bag because sometimes the bag would come off the frame sometimes. With the new attachment system, it seems that all the problems with the pre-2017 bags have been fixed. Just call customer service and they'll send you out the conversion kit you need.

The two bridge slides change out for buckles. The two slides with the top that clips (on each side of the hip belt) and two more slides on the back of the frame need to get swapped. Basically, Kuiu changed the the attachment points from slides to buckles.
