I know all of you are already shaking your head, but bear with me.

Up untill about 3 weeks ago I didn't have any plans on taking a trip out west this fall, due to work family, and funding I only get to take one trip a year.and usually a buddy and I go to Texas hog hunting in the spring.

Well we are now considering a trip out west and I'm looking for some advice on what tags are out there available for this fall.

I have looked into Idaho OTC elk and deer, wyoming leftover license, Colorado OTC elk, and AZ OTC archery deer in january. I'm open to a hunt for antalope, mulies, or elk( possibly others but not interested in a whitetail hunt).

I'm just looking for some information on what other states have tags available either OTC, leftover, or anything else.

As of right now I'm looking at an Idaho rifle elk hunt, but with only 7 days available and a 22 hour drive to get there if like to explore other options if any are out there.

Let me stress that I'm not looking for units to hunt, just tags that are available that I can research. It has been mind blowing the amount of time that a guy can spend online trying to decipher these different states regs and draw/ tag procedures. I can only imagine the time some of you that must have invested researching online throughout your hunting careers. If your still reading this I sincerely appreciate your time and I welcome any feedback good bad or ugly.

Thanks,
