New guy, (soon to be retired!) Air Force. I have hiking experience, not a ton of hunting experience. Love to shoot. This summer I've been working on long range precision shooting and I picked up a bow. Both have been a ton of fun. This was my first year attempting elk and first year with a bow. I managed to call a couple in close, but had no shot. Had a great time and learned a ton. Will trying again next year for sure. I generally make it out a few times a year for coyotes, deer, black bear, and have been trying for a wolf in ID for the past two years. All on public land.
