I hunt NM regularly and there are good spots in all the units Ive hunted or just visited. A lot depends on what hunt you want, MD or WT. What kind of terrain you like to hunt or what is closest to you. I took a 3pt MD this year in NM and a really nice 4pt in AZ. Not telling what units I hunt though. Get out and scout to see what you like.

Never hunted it but I've heard tales of great deer coming out of unit 44.
