I just saw this posted and figured I’d pass it along for anyone who’s interested. Hank Shaw puts out some great books and recipes. I highly recommend checking them out!

Mine showed up today. I flipped through it,and it looks like more of the terrific work showcased in his other recent books.

I'd highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in southwest/Mexican cuisine!

I saw him in Boulder CO at Blackbelly restaurant where he demonstrated butchering and had a meal. It was fun. He is a likeable guy. Never have been able to closely follow his recipes as they call for a lot of time and side techniques for some of the ingredients on ones I was interested in but have adapted some.

Hank's venison barbacoa should be the first on your list. Simple and delicious. (I don't add the cloves)
