Hello, new guy here. I hunt primarily WV and occasionally pa, but I’d like to think I’m hunting terrain similar to the out west guys. I find most of my biggest whitetail on the national forest in 3800 - 4200 ft - packing in several miles, setting up a base camp, and then hunting from there

Looks like lots of good info on this forum.

Hi there! I hunt in Monongahela National Forest on Cheat Mtn. Have family in The Beverly area. Seen and killed some nice mountain bucks there.

Welcome. Sounds awesome. are you spot and stalking, still hunting or ambushing in this terrain? Just curious how that might work out east.

Welcome to the forum. Am in eastern KY now, but grew up in North Central WV, around Monongahela forest.

Nice. I hunted from a trophy line a few seasons a decade ago and would like to get back into one
Love mine. Wear in my saddle. Single tethrd one stick, carbon tethrd platform, 30 ft of rope and a madrock and I’m hunting pretty much any tree and carrying 6 pounds.
