Enjoy New York State . It is beautiful with the exception of all it’s liberals. You’re not far from Allegheny Forest in PA. Finger Lakes Region is beautiful as are the Adirondacks. Great fishing and hunting. Tremendous amount of outdoor activity available in the state. Trout in Lake Ontario at the mouth of the Salmon River is great . I caught many large salmon and trout by there. Lake Oneida and the Finger Lakes has great fishing too. In the early 80’s I used to hunt deer and bear in the Cedar River area of the Adirondacks. That’s the Indian Lake- Moose River recreation section. Hunted the Catskills too. Game is more sparse in the Adirondacks compared to the Finger Lakes and Catskills but they are out there and there are some big ones. Of course there is Thousand Islands on the St. Lawrence seaway. Needless to say Niagara Falls and Lake Erie, Lake George, Lake Champlain(and other lakes in Adirondack park). Which by the way is one of the largest designations for a conservation park in the country(if not the largest). I live in Florida mostly, but still go up to Pennsylvania and New York for outdoor activity. I kept my Pocono home up there to base my northeastern outdoor activities. Nothing like the northeast. New York State has much to offer. It’s a shame there are so many lefties ruining certain aspects with their activism.
Have fun. By the way there is the HuntingNY.com forum you should register in.

Only benefit is the lefties tend to stick to one central location and aren’t much for backwoods. They stick to the trails if they venture into “Upstate”. The cidiots view upstate like the Frozen North in Game of thrones. But its still terrible they dictate policy in Albany.

That’s the sad aspect of it all. Most cidiots dictate policy and don’t fully grasp the depth of the rural folk or outright don’t care. Although not all city folk disrespect the rest of the state. I grew up and lived 2/3 of my life in NYC(Brooklyn and Manhattan). Many of us had homes and or rented places upstate. We always had respect for rural values. Sadly there isn’t enough of us. But not all are cidiots, and more than you think are outdoorsmen that keep quiet about their hunting and firearms activities.

Western NY. Half way between Buffalo and Rochester on the PA Border. Near letchworth state park if you are familiar with the state.

That’s a cool part of the state. I am familiar with Ny, spent 27 years there before moving to Arizona in 2017. My gf went to college at UB and we’ve visited Letchworth. I had a buddy from college down that way as well. I’m from Sandy Creek

Welcome from SoCal.
I absolutely love the Finger Lakes / Western NY area.....though I am biased as I was born and raised there in a small town about 30-45 minutes east of Rochester.

My wife went to UB, I went to BUF State.
I feel your pain for the Tug Hill Area I lived there almost a decade. I lived on a 100 acres of great land but the winters are just brutal. Highest snowfall in the world at sea level. Felt like we got 3’ of snow every other day.
