Anyone coming to central Idaho with unit 28 tags better be checking the new closures they just listed today.
It's not pretty and things are going to be crazy and crammed jammed packed with hunters.
Black Eagle Red Rock grew together yesterday/last night. Now 50k acres. The closure is unreal!

Fire season isn’t over till it snows a few feet. If all those fires got the wind we did yesterday, it was pretty nuts.

Friday was a bad day for fires in Idaho, for sure. Cold front brought high winds and no rain or snow. The Valley fire just outside of Boise came up out of nowhere and spread exponentially. Never seen a fire year quite like this one in fifty years living in Idaho. There have been really big ones before, but not so many large fires in so many different places, so late in the year.

No moisture for months and hot temps means fires.
Seen where Big Creek airstrip is closed due to the Logan fire. Valley fire has Boise front closed.
Now the Red Rock has central Idaho closed down.
Basically the west and east sides for getting into the Wilderness is closed to all.

Looks like the Goat fire returned with a vengeance Friday and Saturday, heading up FS 474 and then jumping over Blue Point Ridge. We seriously need a cold snap and some precipitation.

No! We need moisture to get the night time humidity recovery back to normal. That is what will cool the fires down and they can get somewhere. If only they would.
