I had a chance to get my hands on the new Dauntless bipod. I believe they’re shipping now but I’m not totally sure.
This bipod seems to be directed towards NRL Hunter style use. It’s probably a bit on the heavy side for backpack hunts but it’s probably going to replace my Gunwerks elevate for NRL Hunter matches.
It has 32” of available elevation with twist lock leg extensions. Everything can be operated and adjusted with one hand. There are very solid tactile and audible (but not loud) clicks when changing settings. Lockup is very positive.
There is easily adjustable tilt but no pan feature, which I find to be unnecessary and problematic in a bipod.
Fit and finish is superb. Coatings are gorgeous and there are no rough edges or unnecessary slop.
I can easily shoot in a high sitting or kneeling position using rear tripod support.
It’s compatible with both ARCA and picatinny. I was switching between this and my Gunwerks elevate bipod so I used the picatinny but the ARCA locks up rock solid and is adjustable in tension.
It weighs 29.1 oz on my scale. I believe they’re going for $400 (That's what I paid for mine)
Overall, I am very impressed.
