I just wanted to post my first custom rifle built by Short Action Customs. There are so many great rifle builders out there that it took me way more time to decide than it should have. I decided to give these folks a shot out of Wellington, Ohio. It was a great experience! Small shop with great customer service. They always answered the phone and returned emails within a day. I changed up some specs a couple times and a new comprehensive invoice was sent immediately showing the new changes. Not just a listing of parts, but all of the gunsmithing and prices for each item. They were great to work with and I will absolutely do business here again. These are the pictures that they sent to me.

Specs.
Alpha II Action (made at Defiance Machine)
Manners MCS-T Elite Tactical Shell Stock
Timney Calvin Elite Trigger
24" Proof Research Barrel
Surgeon Bottom Metal Detachable Box Magazine
Accuracy International Mags
American Precision Arms Gen 2 Little Bastard Brake
Bolt had a melanite treatment

Beautiful rifle !! Let us know how it shoots. When you first talked to them, how long would delivery time be?? How long did it actually take??

I am interested also. You said pictures they sent. Do you have rifle in hand? Weight? Did they work up/recommend a load? Which scope?

Great looking rifle congratulations! What scope are you going with?

I haven't completely decided on a scope yet other than it will be Nightforce not to exceed 15 power. I heard from an unreliable source that Nightforce is coming out with some new stuff in the next few weeks. I'm going to wait and see what New products they have. I have their "budget" model 4-14x50 SHV F1 and love everything about it. I'm just an average shooter and it doesn't leave me wanting more.

I placed the order 12/29/2015. They told me it could be up to 20 weeks after all components came in. The stock was the hold up. Was told that the Manners stock in the configuration I wanted would be a 38 week wait alone. So the initial timeframe was 58 weeks. The stock ended up taking 36ish weeks. They called me 8/30/2016 and said they have all the parts. It took 8 weeks after that for the finished product. If my math is correct, it took 44 weeks.

Yes sir...they took a bunch of photos and emailed them to me. I'm pretty sure they photo every rifle they make and post what they call "Gun of the Day" on their website. I don't have it yet, the gun is enroute now. They did send me specs and it weighs in at 7lbs. 12oz. Honestly, I was surprised it was that light. I thought it may come in a little heavier than that. No load work up. I didn't even ask. I haven't decided on optics just yet. I'm waiting till after SHOT show to see what new products get released.

Let us know how you like it after putting hands on it. Great looking rifle. I hope it performs to your expectations.
