Need new boots - fit question and recommendations

Going through gear to prep for September. Put my schnees beartooth on and they fit like a half size small, narrow through the foot, and almost no room in the toes. They are a size 11 W. Which is the size I wear in all of my shoes. Looking for a high quality boot for a wide foot. Unfortunately in Alabama there aren’t many stores that have anything available to try on.

Sounds like the boots were wet the last time you wore them, then they dried and haven't been on your foot for a bit. Have you tried getting some conditioner on them and taking them for a hike?

I have had good luck with Lowa boots. The Ticams are roomy.

They haven’t gotten wet. I’ve had them a couple years just never really wore them much or paid a lot of attention

I will also add, go to Black Ovis and/or GoHunt you can order several and try them on and send them back for a refund. I was in the same boat. FL panhandle, and I ordered 4 pairs to wear around the house and shipped 3 pair back.

+1 for gohunt. Get your foot and arch measured at a running store and then call them midday when they aren’t busy. They helped me pick 3 boots to try based on my size and foot shape. I bought 4 pairs and returned 3. It was also nice to try a few brands instead of just one.

Update : James with lathrop and sons reached out to me. We spoke on the phone for a while. I did the foot mapping kit and they are doing the custom orthotics and the mountain hunter extreme super wide. Boots should be here in the next couple of weeks I will post an update then.

Lowa GTX fit my feet best. I tried most of the big name boots and Lowa felt/fit the best. Bought a second pair. Takes about 3-4 months for a resole.

I wasn't sure at first, but read nothing but good reviews. And he was more interested in helping me rather than trying to make a sale. I figured I basically have a $500.00 pair of boots for nothing, by the time i get another pair that hopefully works why not just spend a little more and take the guess work out.
