New guy here and I appreciate the add to the forum. Need help deciding which pant to go with. Comfort and durability is main concern, Kuiu attack, Sitka equinox or FL corrugate guide pant. I’ve racked my brain and read enough comments and discussions and still having trouble finding the deciding factor for me. 36R fits perfect in the Sitka in the crotch and waist, length is pretty long for me though which is no big deal to have them hemmed. But size suggestion would be much appreciated as well for the other 2. Thanks to anybody who jumps on here to help! Little background, I live in WV and do a lot of late season public land hunting, so thick brush is a definite in at least half the places I go.

If comfort is your main consideration, you’ll have to try them on. I don’t think anyone can tell you how they’ll feel to you. How about either going to try them on or order from someone who does free returns and send back the ones that you don’t like?

Thanks for the input, And yea I agree with you with the comfort part of it being different for everybody. I’ve tried the equinox on in store and they’re super comfortable, I guess the main concern should’ve just been durability between the 3. From what I’ve read they all seem pretty comfortable.

Not on your list but check out the Prana Zions, best pant in my opinion. Comfortable, super durable and much less expensive than the big three hunting brands.

Of that list, Corrugate Guide Pant has the most stretch and comfort IMHO. Also very durable.

Have the Kuiu Attacks...and they are ehhh to me. For my self they are not an early season pant (feels too hot and sweaty) and not a late season pant (I like my kuiu axis better in the snow). Still like them, but they just fit in a weird place in my kit.

I don't know what late season in West Virginia looks like temperature wise, but I'm wearing the SG De Havilland or Sitka Timberlines for my late season pants.

I am also a 36w in Sitka I buy large pants and 36 regular in there pants that you can order by the numbers. In first lite guide I also order 36 in there newer pants but the older ones I like the medium it’s a little tight in the waist I also have large that fits the waist better but they are to baggy for my liking. In kuiu I order a 38 in there pants. Try the kuiu kutana stretch woven pants they are pretty tough pants. Good luck

Temps and conditions are honestly all over the place, last December muzzleloader season was between high 20s and high 70s the 3 days I hunted. So I’m looking for a pretty versatile pant that I can put a layer on underneath (which I have) and puffy pants or rain gear over top for colder temps and wind/foul weather. And I’m definitely not partial to any brand at all as I have never owned good quality hunting clothing, I just kinda get what’s cheap and make it work, which it never does. Lol so at this point I’m willing to spend a little more if it’s going to be worth it and last for me. Thanks for the input everybody!

Is the 34” inseam in the kutana an issue for you? I wear a 30” length, and the 34 length in those concern me with them potentially being super baggy between the legs. The Sitkas weren’t baggy between the legs at all and I think they are a 33” inseam.

I am a Length 32" and most hunting pants I own are 34" length and I have no issue, but 30 vs 34 I would imagine would be an issue for you.

Yea that’s mainly why I was leaning toward the attacks, that’s the closest to my length that I could find in hunting pants.

If comfort is your main concern, I'd recommend Corrugate Guide Pant.
I was lookin at those and the corrugate foundry. The foundry mainly for dumping heat, I tend to get pretty hot hiking out on public land trying to get away from where normal huntin pressure would be.

They are long I’m a 32 length I just roll them under if I have on tennis shoes but when I’m hunting they are tucked in my boots as I’m a saddle hunter don’t do much stalking here in north Florida lol

Is the Sitka and SG waits measurements pretty close to each other?

I second either SG Dehaviland or Sitka Timberlines. Both are bombproof pants, great for late season, and i go back and forth on which one i like more. The Sitka pants are more comfortable to me, but i feel like the SG pants are a little more durable and functional, especially for high output hunts with the side zips. I am a 34L in Sitka and a Large tall in SG. I am 6'4 with a 34 inseam and a 34 waist in normal pants. I would say size up in the SG, and true in Sitka. SG give you a lot of play with their waistline design, but with the L in SG I am about 1/2 from being maxed out with my 34 waist.

The Kuiu is rather thin in the thigh, the first lite is a little snug, but isn’t quite as bad, but I still feel the Prana Zion is better than either for me in terms of fit. Quite frankly, the sizing of the Kuiu and FL is not good for me in the thigh or inseam. Prana offers real waist and inseam sizing vice having the one or two inseam lengths for all waist sizes. I have not tried the Sitka. I do not see any functional benefit of the high end stuff over the Zions for western or eastern hunting. Adding eastern brush into the mix changes things. I don’t see the Kuiu or FL pants surviving at all. Could be wrong, but that stuff is evil.

From what I’ve read and found, the original (which apparently were the better version) prana zions have been discontinued and a lot of the reviews I read about them people were begging for the old ones back. That the new versions were less superior when it came to the fit, fabric and durability.
