So I have searched and can't find a answer. So is kuiu strong fleece 280 warmer than a sitka traverse or are they about the same? looking for something to go under my kuiu proximity

not owning either, but just looking at them- they appear to use a similar construction- hard faced fleece on the outer and a brushed fleece on the inner

what could be telling is that the Sitka is roughly twice the weight of the Kuiu, that would lead me to lean towards the Sitka on which one is warmer

if no one has a direct comparison, order both and you should be able to tell pretty easily at home which one is warmer- send the other one back

It is not either of the two you mentioned, but don't overlook the Sitka Ambient. It is an awesome piece for mid layering. Light but extremely warm. Comes in a full zip with no hood, or half zip hoody. I have the full zip jacket.

I don’t have both to compare, but my Strongfleece 260 is my fav piece of hunting clothing I own.

This!! I had the KUIU strongfleece 260 and loved it, but for the same weight the sitka ambient is warmer and breathes much better. The ambient honestly is a true technical piece of clothing.

You won't regret it.

I dont own either of the specific pieces you are talking about, but have an older cold weather traverse hoody (its a full zip jacket) and the strong fleece 260 hoody. The sitka doesnt cut wind near as well as the kuiu and while the warmth is similar between the two, because of the wind resistance of the kuiu strong-fleece it wears warmer. The strongfleece is a much less bulky fit.

I am fairly certain both the 280 and the current traverse are similarly dis-similar.
