I hunt whitetail and my most of my shots are under 150 yards with occasional shots between 200-300 yards. I just ran out of Remington core lokts and im looking to try something else because my gun didn't like them very much. For whitetail within these ranges should I get a bonded, cup and core, or monolithic? 130gr? 140gr? 150gr?

I am very impressed with the Winchester 130gr copper impact. I picked it up at Walmart. Killed one whitetail and two elk with them so far.

Do you want fastest incapacitation and possibly a bigger mess/more ruined meat or maybe not quite as quick and less mess?

Pretty much any 270 hunting ammo is going to wreck a whitetail in short order. I'd get a stoutly constructed 130 gr lead core or maybe even copper personally.

All my 270s love 140g Nosler Ballistic Tips and AccuBonds. Excellent performance on everything, especially deer.

If you actually did want just a bullet recommendation, we always use a hornady vmax 110gr. It can be loaded hotter and you aren't trying to go into distances where the 130 plus is better

The deer I've killed with the core lokts have died quickly and had devastating wound channels but I've had to pick lead out of meat multiple inches away from where I hit. I grazed the front left shoulder on a quartering towards shot, and most of the shoulder was ruined. Im thinking accubond, federal fusion or barnes ttsx

Whatever your gun likes of:
Core lokt
Federal fusion
Normandy american whitetail

My guns seem to love Winchester deer season xp and the results have been incredible.
