We all have to start somewhere. Grew up typical Michigan tree stand hunter. Now a ND whitetail and mule deer stalker. The further west I get the more I like it. Regular over at Archery talk but, guys here seem more normal and the classifieds are better.

Grew up in Minot. Miss the grasslands near Grassy Butte-Killdeer
 
Really like the killdeers but haven't hunted up there for years. Great location.

I'm north of Grand Forks, not far from the border. I hunted the kildeers and grassy butte last season but nothing to show for it. It was a humbling experience but I will be back again trying again this year. Too beautiful not to go back. Whitetails up this way are huge but I've got a mule deer itch I need to scratch.
 
Family has land in your neck of the woods. Up in the Pembina Gorge. They’ve shot some stud elk and whiteys.
 
The gorge is beautiful. If you're lucky enough to pull an elk tag the trophy caliber is unreal. A a majority of the tags go to land owners. Whitetails are highly underrated around here, not uncommon to see a 140" deer every other sit.
 
Welcome to Rokslide and ND. I grew up in south-central ND. I miss it down there all the time. Definitely some of the most underrated hunting and fishing in the country is in that state.
