I stumbled upon the Mystery Ranch packs being sold at dirt cheap prices at Sierra Trading Post. If you are ok with solid colors and no meat shelf they have the Glacier , Terraplane and T-100 on sale for 149-199 respectively.
I am running the Glacier for myself and my son. I bought them last year after much research for significantly less than what the hunting specific packs cost. They are rated to carry 90 pounds and I can say I comfortably carried 75 pounds on many training hikes. I added the Kifaru straps and the Grab it to carry my bow and make the meat shelf in reverse.
Here’s a pic from a trip I did last fall on the AT for bear. Didn’t get one but did see one about 400 pounds.
