My New .280AI

Finally finished assembling my custom .280AI with the help of a friend. It’s my first build and really happy with the outcome. Ready to break her in next weekend. The research and ensuing learning curve was a ton of fun. I’ve hunted for over 30 years and had no idea what I didn’t know about a rifle. I bought the components over a 3 month period. I had a gunsmith do the barrel work and mate it to the action. We bedded it using Marine Tex and installed everything else ourselves.

25” on the barrel. Haven’t put it on the scale yet, but will do that tonight and report back.

Got lucky and found a cheap box or two for break in at a local shop. He ordered them by accident. Loading the rest myself.
