I know this probably isn’t a big thing to you westerners, but being from Oklahoma, it was pretty cool for me. I found my first set of sheds while hunting today. They were within 6ft of each other. The sides facing up are pretty sun bleached as you can see. The dirt sides still look good. I packed them out with my Kifaru Shape Charge. Sure wish I could find the bull they belonged to. Lots of miles and no elk. I can’t get them to talk to me which is making it very difficult. 54A7B769-C96F-4A7C-9F49-C9017082BE38.jpeg0460580C-F76D-4C3B-8846-97E8BD6C46CD.jpeg

Shed location can be right where they live all year heavily dependent of snow depth and migration if one....shed found 400 yds as crow flies from where I shot him 5 months later...and these this year 600 yds from I got him on cam in september...all about location location👨‍🦯👍4BA4EA43-1CD4-4423-B07C-B0403A2EE061.jpeg3B9D2A86-A878-460B-B469-7A15494CFBB7.jpegEBD6AC28-8D78-48ED-9663-91505ACA7543.jpegA000FC48-CB9F-4ABE-8D89-9BE26D41F9E5.jpeg

AWESOME. Good Luck, I've lived around Elk all my life but still rarely find sheds, but that's because of the thick year round brush in western WA. I know how awesome finding sheds are. Keep it up.

Not knowing anything about where you are hunting, I would suggest going up in elevation, seems like you could be hunting their winter range right now and the elk just may not be there. Good luck to you. That's an awesome find.
That’s what I was gonna say too, if you’re finding sheds while hunting my guess is you’re in their winter range which most likely would be hard to find any elk during archery.
