I was thinking about my favorite pieces of clothing.
Most of my clothing choices would be familiar to most folks on this forum, as it tends to be a mix of Firstlite, Sitka, etc. I do love Voormi wool gear, which is lesser known, but seems to be gaining traction.
I'd be willing to bet, however, that my favorite winter hat is not shared by anyone else here.
It's a ridiculously expensive hat, ($145) but I love it. It's warm, super comfortable, shrugs off cold, wind, and snow.
I wear it hunting, hiking, camping. It's a wonderfully functional piece of camp luxury. One of those fiscally irresponsible splurges that I don't regret at all.
The Expedition Hat – Golightly Cashmere
If you want a terrific winter hat, and if you can keep your wife from seeing the credit card bill and having to explain why you spent this much money on a hat, then I highly recommend it.
