I will need to read through all of this. I did make comments in support of some. Talk was they were increasing quota due to multiple years of over population.

I don't have enough faith in the MT FWP to believe this will make one bit of difference in hunting.

Governments like to write a lot of stuff down and "change policies" because they have to justify their (mostly) useless existence on the taxpayer dime. Each year, they rewrite district boundaries. Why???

If anything, this will be utilized to maintain the current trajectory of elk management in MT, which is growing opportunity for private land hunters and GFY to the public.

I agree with the sentiment. However, most of the working folks at FWP are great people doing good work...I only recently learned this year that the FWP has no decision-making authority, none whatsoever...it is the politically-appointed FWP Commision that gives a thumbs up or down to every bit of policy, research and regulatory change.

That has not been my experience at public meetings re: regulation changes. The public is largely treated with contempt and hostility if the FWP's proposed decisions are questioned at all.

I think the Commission is a HUGE problem, too. But they handle the bigger-picture stuff.
