I have been eyeballing a new later season sleeping bag and am stuck between these two. Their specs are damn near equal in size a weigh but the MH is $150 cheaper. Does anyone have a hands on comparison of the two bags or a good review of the MH torch?
Thanks

If its the same Torch with the center zip, I bought it for my wife. It works well, as is to be expected of MH stuff. I am partial to Kifaru stuff, yeah its spendy but bombproof. But she loves it. Stays warm to 0 like it's advertised, shrinks down pretty small with the included compression sack. Smooth zipper, easy to use drawstrings on the hood. Hopefully that helps a little, if not, just shoot me a pm and I'll answer any specific questions you might have.

Sounds good thanks. Next time I get to Denver I'll have to go by REI and look the MH.

I've had my eye on one of the MH Hyperlamina's for a while. Undecided between the Torch(0 degree), or the Flame(20 degree). I don't really "need" one, as I have 4 other bags, but I like the idea of a lightweight synthetic bag for use in my floor less single wall shelters late season. From what I've read as of late, MH has discontinued all three of the Hyperlamina's. Not sure if they're replacing them with a newer model or what, but it's been harder and harder to find the regular length bags in stock as most places are sitting on Long sizes. Prices have fluctuated from $165-$260 for them in the two months I've been watching them. Last week Amazon had the Flame for $165, I probably should've pulled the trigger. I will say that the pictures I found of the Torch in a compression sack were a little disappointing. I think it was a 20L sack that they barely had it crammed into. I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of space for synthetic over down, but not sure I can justify a third of my pack volume for it.
With all that said, if you're interested, you might want to scoop one up now...

Torch is a great bag. Biggest difference is the slick has wider options and longer zipper.

Torch is hard to beat for the price

JR, thanks for the heads up on low stock. I might pull the trigger on one sooner than later. Looks damn hard to beat for the money. No thanks pointer, I'd rather have the synthetic for the same specs.

Great bag, I spent 10 nights with mine in Alaska this past September, no complaints. Packs down fairly tight for a 0* synthetic and dries crazy fast if wet. I got mine off of campsaver with a 20% discount (TroopID). Just for reference, i'm 6' and the regular length fits me fine.

Fwiw, my torch was a full 8oz heavier than the advertised weight on REI. It is warm ( not as warm to me as my 0* down never summer) but fairly close. Baffle system is not bad, but not as efficient as on other 0* IMO/IME.

Picked one up from backcountry during their Black Friday sales. Looks great but have yet got a chance to try it. Anyone try a kifaru compression sack vs the mtn hardware sack?
