One of the other threads got me thinking. For those of you with multiple pairs of binoculars, what do you use? 8's paired with 12's or 15's? 10's and 15's? How many of you use 8's on a tripod?

I have some 8x32's, 10x42's, and 15x58's. I mostly use my 8x32's for archery elk hunting, the 10's for most everything else, and the 15's for 3D or for when I'm in the truck.

I have multiple pairs as well. For my own hunting I use 8x32 almost exclusive with Leica LRF1200 RF

However I did buy 10x42 geovids so now I only carry those for everything. Prior to owning the geovids I used 10x42 trinovids for my hunting with clients. I felt better with the 10x to be sure when I told a client to shoot the trophy was worthy. On bears the hide was not rubbed, with goats the tips looked good, in Africa the size I judged was accurate. 10x just worked better where the responsibility of other guys trophies were the priority.

Since I bow hunt almost exclusive for myself 8x was a better choice for my personal hunting. However these Geovids are so good and I only need one device!

I use everything from a 6x30 to 16x50 for bino's and also a spotter.

The main bino's I use are Swaro 7x30 and a Swaro 8x30. I mostly archery hunt. I also sometimes use a Leupold 8x42 Cascade Porro; and I also get a surprising amount of use out of a 6x30 Leupold Yosemite - especially in the thicker stuff.

I have 12X50 Vortex Razor HDs and 8X33 Vortex Viper HDs. Most of the time I use the 12X50s though and never on a tripod.

Luke how Is using those 12's not on a tripod. Can you free hand them or do you need to steady with your knees?

I think I might have too many binos! I've got 8.5x42 and 10x50 ELs and the new SLC 15x56's. I'm getting the Outdoorsmans tripod post on the 10's. They spend most of their time in the truck but I want the tripod adapter so my girlfriend's son has something to use on a tripod when I've got the 15's. The 8.5's are nice for all around use.

My main hunting binos are my 8x42 geovids. These go with me on all hunts. If glassing at all, I carry a tripod for them. If glassing further than 800 yards, my 15's go with me. I have an old pair of 10x42 monarchs for shed hunting and loaner bino's.

Like mentioned on your other thread, have 10x42 HT and would like to get 15x54 in the future.
If Zeiss does not build the HT 15x54, I may get the new Conquest 15x56.
Would not mind owning an 8x32 either. :)
