Hello the Fire and greetings from the Frozen Tundra,
Have been lurking for quite a while and have enjoyed and decided to join. I have been a hunter since I killed and my mother cooked my first rabbit when I was about ten years old, but have evolved into more of a gun nut and competitive shooter. My son, who is a VERY serious and much better hunter than his father, has talked me into going on an archery elk hunt to northern Colorado this fall, so I have been trying to gain knowledge. Years ago I was on a couple of elk hunts, two Minnesota moose hunts, antelope and western deer, but for the last 25 years my hunting has consisted of going to "deer camp" which is in northern Minnesota, about two miles from the Canadian border. Last year was the 44th consecutive year in the same place with the same guys or descendants of those same guys. My part is too eat and help my just turned teen grandson and retell lies. My standard line is that we told the same lies for so many years that we have numbered them.
Anyway, enough rambling. I think this is a great forum and while I don't know that I have a lot to contribute, I will continue to enjoy and gain knowledge.
