Hey guys, not sure if this should be posted here or under gear. I have a larger alaska guide harness and Ive also used badlands harness and just the straps from badlands. I havent liked any of them. The alaskan feels huge, the badlands either wouldnt close rt or would pop open, and the minimal straps I couldnt get tight enough so it would hang on my stomach and bounce. Id love something really simple that can be tightend to stay up on my chest and I could also just drop the binos in case im in the heat of the moment. Hopefully This is specific enough to narrow down the many options to just a couple. Thanks.

There are billion threads on binocular harnesses on rokslide. The ultimate minimal harness is the Rick Young but you give up all protection. I like the marsupial pouch stays in place lid locks up or down to quickly access your binoculars.

An old biologist I worked with years ago always used a paracord harness. I copied his design (it's very simple) and then understood why. It's all I use anymore. Great thing about it is it wraps around the bins and you can put them in a case without taking up any extra space. You can attach an eyepiece cover to the paracord if you feel the need.

The other great thing about the paracord harness is that it weighs practically nothing.

I had to look up the Rick Young design. That's basically a fancy version of a paracord harness. Instead of the adjuster, I have a static square knot.
