Was going to get another custom MBG.. I usually get a sight that's completely micro-adjustable and love it..

Thinking about saving weight this time around and not getting micro-adjust pins or windage/elevation..

What do you guys think? Worth saving a 4-5 oz? Should I get pins but not windage/elevation?

I had it and didn't see the need and switched my buddy for the ascent. You most likely will set your pins once and be done.

I say no, save weight, money, and the benefit is really not necessary.

I will say go micro adjust on your rest!

I'd go with the micro adjust pins. I hate trying to fine tune sight settings with an allen wrench.

Well worth a little weight penalty IMO.

It looks like micro adjust windage/elevation weigh 1.2oz more & pins weigh 2oz more (I think.. Close enough anyway)

I'm kinda leaning towards micro windage/elevation but not pins, which is funny cause it seems like most people do the opposite!

I have the Pure Gold and have not been happy with the micro adjust pins, they can cause some vibration and noise if not tightened down. I love the windage/elevation adjustments tho. well worth it... Are you looking at the new verdict or the pure series?

Also if you weren't already going to, make sure you use the Rokslide discount code to get a discount @ SandSarchery.com .

Was going to go with the Verdict thanks to Steve's review.. Just don't see a reason to get the heavier Pure since the only difference is the type of metal it's made from and my last MBG was already rugged as hell..

Will do, I buy all my stuff from you guys ;)

I have had both with the MBG and I love the micro adjust. I also love the 7075 aluminum. I had an older MBG sight in 6061 break in half at 11,000' on a rather gentle fall. I'll take the extra weight for that extra strength for sure. As much as I change elevations where I hunt and draw weight, I like the micro adjust. Again, weight that's worth it to me.

Are they still using that "wheel" for their micro adjust pins? I hated that system.......too much play in it.

I use Spot Hogg Hunters and love their gang adjustments, but unlike a lot of folks.....I also love their pin adjustments. It's real easy to get them exactly where you want them.....both vertically and horizontally.

Yes they still use the wheels. And I agree, I love the Spot Hogg pin adjust

Here's an opportunity for you guys to start offering ;).........take a SH Hunter and find a way to put a photo-chromatic shell on it instead of the wrap, and then get rid of that almost invisible bubble and put a BG bubble on it as well. That would be my perfect sight.
