Hello all,
I'm planning to set up a chassis with a left handed Remington 700 cloned action in 223 cal for small left handed youth shooters.
I just want to make sure I'm not missing something...
1) If I want the butt pad section to be closer to the action than the end of the stock buffer tube for a shorter length of pull, can I cut the buffer tube so it will slide closer to the action?
2) Is this stock my best option for a stock for an extremely short length of pull and an extremely high comb? If so, I'll probably pair it with the vertical grip and the LSS chassis.
The alternative I have considered is to buy a wood stock and add comb and chop it but then I will have to mess with it after growth spurts in my wood shop instead of just using allen keys on the MDT stock. If I went with a custom wood stock I'd probably not get a bolt action and instead pick up a 223 Ruger No.1 so we can all shoot it via a stock change as I'm right handed.
Thank you for your consideration and feedback.
