This is great glass no doubt. I guess like anything it comes down to budget, IMO there are better spotters out there but not in this price range. I think what limits this scope is the wide angle eyepiece maxs out at 50X. So depending on viewing distance this may limit counting inches over say a 60x scope of equal glass quality.
