How many on here owns or have shot a Triax? Opinions wanted because I’m looking seriously at one.

It's just a smaller Halon. The platform is nothing new. It should work okay for you if your no longer than a 28 inch draw. It's pretty chunky for how compact it is. Also it's very top heavy like the rest of them. Doesn't have any of the cool switch weight options, yet does allow for higher let off if your into that. Also all the good grip options came after that model.

I have one. I like it quite a bit. I bought it very lightly used when my RevoltX broke and couldn't be fixed before hunting season. No complaints and I haven't fixed the RevoltX yet

Have one, love it. Zero complaints. Grabbed a triax after owning a few Hoyt RX's, glad I did, especially with a shorter DL.

I have a Triax at 70lb/28.5DL. Shoots very well. Ive shot just about everything that’s come out from Mathews and the other manufacturers. There are certainly some great bows out there. Nothing that’s made me feel like I’m really missing out on anything.

There was a stone color one on here for $500 bare, looked to be in good shape. Might wanna search for that.

In my experience, it's hard to find the string when anchoring. I always had to dip my nose down because of the angle due to my longer draw length. Zac references anything less then 28inches this shouldn't be an issue. Love this bow otherwise, smooth, dead in hand etc. Can't go wrong.

So it looks like the Vertix may be a better option since I’m a 30” draw…

The best option for you is gonna be the V3x 33, definitely not the Triax, or a V3 31 would probably work. You have no business with a 28 inch bow.

I was looking at those particular bows due to price point.
It just doesn't fit you. There are plenty of other used bows that would. Just don't go below a 30 ATA. Preferably a 32-34 inch would be best. Most guys at 29 inches are already crunching their necks with 30 inch bows.

You’re Chill R is a killer. I’ve owned a pile of bows since mine and none of them have been any better.
