Question on the Mathews SAS (Stay afield System)… it looks like it would be great for infield string replacement, but what about cable replacement? ( I know you can’t replace the yokes or cams with it) …
I’m pretty sure to remove/replace a cable properly you need to remove the roller out of the roller guard, correct? ( which requires taking tension off both cables).
For my elk hunt this year I’m going to have an extra set of strings and cables with me but I’m debating if I should just bolt my EZ green to a 2x10 and throw it in the pickup …
So in a nutshell, from what I understand the SAS can:
- replace string
- maintain string (twist string or instal peep)
- allow for cable driven rear cord installation or adjustment
- allow for cable adjustment ( twist or untwist for timing)
It can’t
- ability for cable replacement
- ability for yoke replacement
- ability to remove cam
