I'm feverishly awaiting delivery of a new to me Halon 32 6. I'm new to the modern compound game. Just wanted to ask you guys what your thoughts on a good hunting arrow carrying a fixed blade head. Will be used primarily on whitetail this season and hopefully elk in 2020. It is supposed to be set 70# at 28.5. I've spent several hours in the past few days standing in the archery shop staring at all the options. I am hoping that some of you guys can help me with some info on this particular setup.

I shoot a Halon 32/6 70lb and 27.5" draw. I shoot Day Six 300 HDs (50gr Outsert & Center Pin) and I have QAD Exodus 125s and Iron Will Solids in my quiver. I still haven't shot anything with the Iron Wills. I shot my deer this year with QAD Exodus. I love them.

I have a halon 32 6. I shoot the day six 250's with 50 gr outsert with my 31" draw. I also have gold tip pro hunter 300's. Out of the 3 whitetails I got during archery one was with the gold tips and a iron will 100gr, another was day six and 100gr iron will and the last was the day six with a magnus black hornet which performed better IMO due to the larger cutting diameter. I probably wont be buying more iron wills.

I also have a Halon 32 70# at 27” draw. I killed three whitetails with it this past season and am currently shooting 340 Axis 5mm arrows, standard insert, 1" standard slick trick 125s and Bohning x-vanes (3 fletch). Arrows flew like darts and crushed the three deer I shot. I’ve always wanted to use the Iron Will style heads but have had great arrow flight and blood trails with the slick tricks that I’m not keen on spending the money on them just yet. I really like my arrow setup but it is a bit light (~440gr) for larger game, I will be stepping up to the 300 spine axis (w/ 50gr inserts) and trying out the QAD Exodus for use on elk next season. Good luck!

Shot that same bow w/ fmj 340 spine w 125 Iron Will, 3 fletch aae max stealth. Will give you about 507-509gr with decent FOC and in 265fps range. Shot really well out of the bow for me.

Been hunting with the Halon 32 since it launched and I really love that bow. I found that it liked the easton axis arrows, if you are going to use the brass inserts go up in spine. I have also liked using the victory vap tko w/ss inserts though I found those inserts like to bend. As far as broadheads go I like the muzzy trocar, slicktrick vipertricks, and kudu points. The downside to the broadhead world is its a pay to play, there are a lot of good broadheads but some just fly better than others.
