What rifle(s) did you use? I have shot only in the Garand and M1903 Springfield matches.

I bought Compass Lake Engineering Kreiger upper and was about to get serious when my life took a turn so it still sits in the vault. At the time they were building the USMC rifle and pistol team's uppers and were kicking a** so that's what I got. I'm getting ready to list it soon so I can buy a 450 Bushmaster upper as they are now legal in my backyard for deer.

I started out with a pieced together DPMS upper on a RRA lower. At the end, I shot a full RRA National Match. With a coat and sling, I could shoot that into 1 1/2 MOA pretty consistently. I don't know if my eyes work well enough anymore to even see through that tiny peep sight now:)

The M1s were very cool to shoot. We had Garand matches throughout the year, but some guys used them for all of the matches. I bought two of them through the CMP when they were plentiful and cheap, along with the $.08 a round Greek ammo!

Like lead, bullion and pre-1965 coins, those days are long gone!!! Man o man did I spend some $ down there. The commercial row vendors licked their chops when I came strolling up, limping with a fat wallet.

I shot cmp week and the garand match at Camp Perry for 4 years, 1999-2003 if I remember correctly. I got married in 1994 and haven't been back since. I started shooting a garand and quickly switched to a DPMS NM gun. Then I got the long range bug and sold my AR and built a MAK tubegun. I shot f-class at a local match for the first time last summer and really enjoyed. I hope to shoot some more f-class this summer. Young kids and now hunting out west seem to steal all my time and money so it will be awhile before I get serious about competing again.

I've never shot any CMP or NRA comps, but I used to shoot some USPSA and then quickly transitioned into a 3 gunner. I traveled quite a bit and really enjoyed the competition, but gave it up cold turkey in 2012. I'm a very competitive guy and the time commitment to really compete is pretty high. Practice time, reloading, travel and $ to pay for all of it really took a toll on my other hobbies.

I do really miss the rush though! Running around an obstacle course, shooting an AR, pistol and shotty as fast as you can is quite the adrenaline rush.

Tell us about your weapons, Bro(wtine).

I was a Tac Ops guy.

My pistol was also set up to be able to shoot Production class in USPSA so nothing fancy. Gen 3 G34, stainless guide rod, 13# recoil spring, Dawson comp sights w/ FO front, some grip tape and +5 mag extensions. I always kind of longed for a 2011, but can honestly say I can't every remember a Glock crapping out during a match. Can't say that for the race guns.

Rifle is a JP15 with a carbon tube and a Burris 1-4 XTR on top (Not my first choice in optics, but they gave me a jersey and a little match fee money every once in awhile).

Shotgun was a Benelli M1 Super 90. +6 mag extension, lightened the bolt, opened up the loading port and welded the lifter.

i shot in a western division shooting match at Camp Pendleton (1998 I think) while in the marine corps. Had a great time. Almost placed on the pistol team with the Beretta M9 but was quite a ways down on the third page for the M16. I would like to get back into it, for sure, but my wallet also prevents it.

I only do precision/tactical rifle matches these days.
At 58, with an office job, I get my butt kicked, but boy
does it build confidence in dealing with tough shots.
