Good condition. Minor scratches on the stock, but all cosmetic. Scope is a Leupold 3-9×40, regular duplex reticle. A Simms recoil pad was also put on. 22" bbl.
Bluing is excellent condition
Shoots great with the Evolution ammo
$850 obo

Sorry guys, it is a 45-70.
And I bought this used with limbsaver pad already installed. I'll put up pics of the stock without the ammo sleeve

I know she's sold, but I could use some schooling. I thought on all the Marlin models that SS meant it was a Stainless Steel model.... if this beauty was indeed a 1895ss, what does the SS really stand for or was this a misprint?

I think on the 1895 the S was initially for a sporter barrel designation and the second S added on later Marlin 1895is for the cross bolt Safety. Hence, 1895SS.

Gotcha, I guess that makes sense. I have a stainless JM1894SS in .44. Naturally she has the crossbolt safety, but I always assumed the SS on her meant she was Stainless Steel. Good info to know.....
