Manfrotto Tripod Head 342RC2

Has anyone used this head with a spotting scope. I have a 65mm razor I would like to use with it, also how did it pan

I use one with a 80mm Swaro. I like it a lot. It pans smoothly, but it is a pistol grip, so you have to work on your technique and maybe play with the tension adjustment.
