Definitely go with Blackhorn 209… shoots great and easy clean up.

My Optima shoots 70gr by weight (100gr volume) 300gr SSTs into a single hole at 100 yds. Play around with powder charges. I add more and my groups open up.

Oh nice! Wish i had a 15% off code lol. I ordered a leupold freedom ultimatslam scope from scheels and they sent me a 25 dollar e-gift card with the purchase. Just a heads up if you're gonna buy a new scope for it.

My accura likes 105gr of blackhorn 209 primer behind federal 270 trophy copper bullets. Unfortunately I was running short on the trophy copper bullets, wasn’t able to find any more and with a hunt coming up quick I found a couple boxes of 290gr Barnes. It seemed ok with that too, didn’t group quite as tight. with some powder adjustments maybe it would have, but it’s not worth wasting powder trying right now. I’m shooting open sights so plan on keeping it inside 100yds and it’s good enough for that. Fantastic gun though. If you plan on shooting blackthorn they recommend using the blackhorn breachplug, I think I got mine from Amazon for under $40 if I remember right.

You better hope to find BH209 or be carrying another rod with you. The rod that comes with the MRX is only held together with a bungie cord. You wont be swabbing triple7 fouling with that rod.

I dont really have any other choices when nowhere has blackhorn.

Then you will need to carry another rod with you. Collapsible rods like that are for loading only. You can buy portable rods that screw together in sections.

They mention this right in the Parmount manual that comes with the same rod. Plus a cleaning rod.
Collapsible Field Loading Ramrod – This ramrod is for field reloading only.
Deploy by holding onto the Palmsaver™ handle and letting the rest of the
ramrod drop. The shock cord will pull the sections together into a rod that is
stiff and strong enough to seat a bullet. To return the ramrod to the pouch,
simply pull the sections apart and fold it.

Solid Aluminum Cleaning and Range Loading Rod – For cleaning and
range loading.

Mine likes 100 grains by volume bh209 with remingtons bullet sabot configuration, the green remington sabots are what makes the difference in specific gun .

I'm running 120 grains (2 "magnum" 777 pellets) with a 250 T/C shockwave bonded sabot bullet. Normal 209 primer, either CCI or Winchester. This is on an older Accura MR, not the MR-X.
