Another Whitetail season wrapped up and we were unsuccessful (that’s the way it goes).
After a week of reflection, I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t actually enjoy the typical hunting methods for white tail in eastern Canada.
The hunt is essentially sitting in a ground or tree blind along a cornfield for the week waiting for an animal to show up within shotgun range
Next November I’d like to try something new that involves a more active form of hunting. I’d prefer to spot and stalk, glassing, hunt with my legs etc.
I’m mostly looking into Western game in Canada, what species are open in November that would provide more of an adventure hunt? I already have elk lined up for September and Moose for October.
Mule deer in Alberta? Are these hunted differently than eastern white tail?
Caribou? Pronghorn? Mountain Goat?
