Quick question for some of you advanced shooters. Is there a difference in POI with a tailwind or headwind? If so, how do you calculate it? Maximum yardage I would shoot would be 700.
Thanks,

Generally no value on tailwind and headwind....think of it like a circle, directly left and right, consider full value wind. Slightly angled adjust for half value wind. That is a basic summary.

Generally speaking, at that distance with most long range rigs, you can ignore it. However, if you are shooting across a canyon onto an open slope with a steep face, you can get some pretty good lift coming up the target side if you have a tailwind. Depending on how the wind is deflected off that slope, you can also get a right or left push you didn't notice on your side.

I was practicing this weekend, and had a tail wind of about 7-9 MPH. My first, I gave the wind a little credit for helping the bullet, and hit low. This was at 900 yards, and it appeared it had no effect on POI. I appreciate the responses to help me confirm this.

In theory, you would think it would have an effect, but apparently it does not.

One more thing to realize, a tail wind value of 10 mph = 14.7 fps. You could have more variation in muzzle velocity than the wind value. Puts it into perspective for me at least.
