llama/big horn sheep

No, there is no evidence that Llamas or goats transmit disease to Bighorn Sheep. The evidence pointing toward domestic sheep is even a little scratchy.

It's rock solid that land maggots and domestic goats vectors for pneumonia in bighorn sheep, only members of the flat earth society or sheep ranchers think otherwise.

I'm convinced that domestic sheep are to blame for transmitting MOVI, but I would like to see the rock solid evidence on goats. I had my pack goats swabbed and all 4 tested negative. Wait, the isn't flat???

Every study out there cites goats as as well as sheep. I'm sure like your goats, there are land maggots that don't have it, thats more the exception than the rule.

That's funny you use the term "land maggot." I had never heard of domestic sheep referred as such, but 2 weeks ago a good friend of mine said he had a mule deer hunt spoiled by what he referred to as "land maggots," in Southern Colorado. I knew they free grazed, I hadn't any idea to what extent it was still done. I thought those days were in the past. We don't have either domestic or wild sheep in my area other than your basic 4H domestic sheep, so no need to worry about me passing MOVI along. If I ever have a goat that is positive, I will invite you over for some goat kabobs.

The free ranging sheep in Idaho must be in the southern portion of the state. We don't have them in the our area.

We always called them prairie maggots! Land maggots works well too!

Sheep have to rate right up there as one of the dumbest animals on the face of the planet. Stupid yes, but if you have any hole at all in your fence, they will be able to find it for you!

They were just taken out of most of the Payette national forest, I know there are some in the owyhees and other areas of southern Idaho.

They are usually gone from the woods about the time most hunters arrive.

South Eastern Idaho has huge bands of then all on Forest ground right around archery season. I hate what they do to the ground. They eat everything down to the dirt, and open it up for invasive weed growth. You can tell for years where the band's feed thru.
