Hunting west tx with lots of mesquite and grass burrs/goat heads and the occasional rattle snake. Been wearing insulated snake boots for the last 20-30 years but I’m starting to think there might be better alternatives. Can’t wear boots with a heel…need a tennis shoe type sole. Would still be most comfortable with something snake proof but uninsulated so my feet don’t sweat so bad. Maybe I need to just find un-insulted snake boots? Of course mid winter most snakes are hibernating-but at that point insulation is NICE-need something for early season light weight, breathable but offers some protection

Suggestions please

Me personally Id opt for a lightly insulated/, nicely cushioned boot like a Merrell moab 2 with gators. GL With what ya choose.

While I own Russell turkey hunters and featherweight snake boots. If you want an uninsulated running shoe snake boot look at the Danner Vital snake boot
