Levi Strauss: Another company to add to the boycott list

Anyone who is swept up in PR stunts like this has to know they have been played. These guys don't care about gun violence and Nike doesn't care about what CK is kneeling for. It's a sales pitch plain and simple.

There’s a logical fallacy called the Motte and Bailey fallacy where one retreats back to an easily defendable position (such as “we just want to prevent gun violence”) when one is challenged on their more radical, less defendable positions (ie everything The Everymom for Making the Scary Guns Go ByeBye crowd demands). Don’t trust it, we know what these people really want, they don’t exactly hide it...

It is pretty clear in the article who Levi has partnered with, and who they are giving millions to. The goal of who they partnered with, and the people they are giving millions to is to repeal the 2nd, in the meantime they will settle for any restrictions on the 2nd that they can get. If that is not obvious I'm not sure what is.

When we look at the groups they are proposing to support, it is blatantly obvious that their idea of gun violence prevention is eliminating guns from society, plain and simple. The research in this country is clear and undeniable, the more restrictive gun laws in a state, the more violent crimes the people of the state endure; while states with dare I say, states with liberal gun laws, as in open carry and easily obtainable concealed carry permits for law abiding citizens benefit from exceptionally low violent crime and crime in general.

I've been boycotting Levi's since the 1970's; they always rode too far up my fat ass.

That said, no one is for gun violence. No one is opposed to preventing it. The question is how. What are the groups Levi's is supporting planning on doing? Probably more than advocating funding for mental health issues. Some have suggested the groups in question are anti-second amendment. I do not doubt this; however, I also cannot say that I know it to be true. It would be good to back such claims up with links to information substantiating this.

If he's not calling the gun owners irresponsible, then he's saying that the guns themselves are irresponsible. And that makes the guy an idiot. There's no such thing as "gun violence", just as there's no such thing as "knife violence". There's violence where the perpetrator used a gun, and there's violence where the perpetrator used a knife or some other tool or just violence without any additional tools, but there's no such thing as the guns or knives themselves being violent. "Gun violence" is a political term, plain and simple.

Man I wish people would quit blaming the inanimate tools, and start blaming to tools that use the weapons irresponsibly.

Correct me if I’m wrong but in today’s country and political climate it goes as follows: In a DUI manslaughter, the person is at fault. In a poaching, the person is at fault. But in a shooting murder, somehow the “gun” is at fault..??!! Riddle me that one.

All violent crime in the US has been steadily declining since 1993, so there is way less of it these days despite what the media and the gubmint wants us to believe.
