Lever Action Whitetail and Bison

Well last year I did the 30-06 this year I am going to be using an open site 30-30 lever for a few hunts. I went down to Texas last month with my father inlaw and his 45-70. He has always wanted a bison with that gun so we made it happen. Yes it was high fence, yes it was easy, but hey I was out in the field with him for one more hunt. At 76yo I will take them however I can get them with him these days. He does have a late season public land bull tag in AZ this year so stay tuned for that one.

Am I now a texas high fence guy? Not likely but I did enjoy learning about it and spending some time down there. Hope you guys enjoy the film. Like and Subscribe

I did most of my hunting last year with my model 94, 30-30.
I hunt whitetails with it.
Have yet to get one but I’m optimistic.

I have 3 I’m looking forward to using next year for whitetail. They definitely ooze the feel of tradition. In Ohio, I use a newer Marlin 45-70 guide gun. In northern Michigan, I use my Dad’s mid-60s Marlin 30-30. For nostalgia sake, this winter I bought a late 50s Savage 99 in 300 Savage. I hunted with one when I was a kid and I can’t wait to do so again.

I hunt in Manistee County. We were up there the week before that big storm. But, our area didn't have the impact that your area has had. Those pictures were really unbelievable!

I have a Marlin 444 and a 3030 in Lever actions. Fun to shoot the 444. The 3030 was my first centerfire rifle. Used it for hogs in FL. I bought the 444 for an annual hunt in Ohio prior to the release of 350 Legend.
