How old is this RF and what are the key differences between it and the new models like the 2800.com?

I’m not the original owner but I believe it was manufactured around 2005. As far as a comparison with the newer models, I’m guessing they are smaller, lighter, and can range farther.

2002 ish? I still have one that I bought new when they came out and it still works great. It's my loaner for newbie's to borrow and use. They are very basic with ranging only and a scan mode I believe. There's a rotating switch under the battery cover to switch from meters to yards. We all had the early Bushnell's (a couple had the expensive Swaro) and the Leica's were quite an upgrade over the Bushnell and way more affordable than the Swaro.
