Hey all,

I went to the local store and checked these two out. I thought that both optics were pretty equivalent to my eyes (although the 2700 is likely better).
The obvious difference between the two is that the 2700 can laser out to 2700 yds and the R to 1200 yds. They both have the same horizontal range for angle shots up to 1200 yds (ballistic function).
So, is it worth 1K more to be able to laser out to 2700 yds?

Thanks!

Not being a long range shooter I am still very happy with my older model Geovid HD-R 10x42, and I also picked up the current model "R" recently.
I have spent time with the Geovid 2700 , a great tool for sure but I like the simplicity of 1 button and less bulk of my current ones so I decided to stick with them.
To my eyes the Geovids all provide a great view even when compared to my Swaro SV's. If you don't need the extra range I'd save the 1K, but you may want to compare the two side by side and see what your eyes tell you.
