So I am looking to pull the trigger on a new rifle scope for my savage ultralight 30-06. I was looking at the Credo HX but no luck finding one in Canada so far. The gun will be my all around use gun. I hunt a lot of tight quarter bush were shots do happen less then 30 yards. I also sheep hunt often which can result in longer shots possibly. I currently have only ever used a 3x10x42. It seems ok but would like more magnification for the longer shots sometimes. I am wondering if the 3-18 would be on the high end of the magnification especially for a SFP scope? I do plan to dial if time for the shot permits which it usually would for the long shots.
The 2.5x15x50 seems perfect on the low end with the field of view and 15x seems like a good spot on the high end but the 50mm seems large to carry around sheep hunting and backpack style hunting? The weight differences is only 1.1ox tho, They just look large the 50mm scopes
