Having just tagged out yesterday with a phenomenal 510 yard shot with a bone stock Tikka in 7mm Rem Mag...and a safe full of rifles....I NEED nothing.

For years I chased 26" rifle barrels. Had to have them. Squeak the utmost in "free" speed. Most of my rifles are chonky. Even Sporters are 9+ all up.

I am NOT a Tikka fan. This rig was my back up rig. But every F'in time I pull out rifles to shoot...this combo hits the dot. Any random ammo I have in various reload boxes...hits the dot. Cold bore. Clean bore. 2 years later....all stacked up. Running an original Bushnell Elite LRHS in 4-18. I've shot against others with it for money. It just seems to dial properly and always has. This combo simply hits where you point it.

Some guys are huge Tikka sluts. Even finding this Winner...it feels cheap and Tupperware. But I'm Woke to them.

If I had the hankering for a lefty 6.5 PRC with a 20-22"tube, what options do I have? Cruising Gunbroker....I am not sure I even see a Tikka imported to the US in PRC and LH.

I own a Christensen Ridgeline. Topped with an NX8 in 300PRC. It's finicky. But I love the overall package. Being on the cheap a bit.....the Mesa has my attention. It IS offered in Lefty in 6.5PRC. Couple models. Ridgeline offered in a few also.

For feel in the hand and price tag...I think I am smitten with the thought of the Mesa in PRC. Reviews are up and down.

Am I missing anything?

I watched Tony's review of the Ridgeline FFT....I swear that's a 18" barrel and they're measuring to the end of the brake. That's a bit short, No?

Well, since you called me a tikka slut........
Oh, and I freely admit it.
There are two kinds of tikka owners....those that are and those that will be.
Here is what I did.
Bought a 6.5 superlite creedmoor from sportsmans warehouse and sent it to Shaen who rechambered it, enlarged the bolt face and I changed out the bolt stop. Easy peasy. Presto!.....superlite 6.5 PRC.
And its a killin machine.

Randy-

You'll have the answer. I usta know. All Tikka are "long action" yes? Part of the knock on them. So what magazine do you run? And.....that mean you can seat (if Shaen hooks you up) was past 3.00" with that build?

Bolt face enlargement not an issue for him or others?

There was enough "meat" left for a brake? Love to have it threaded for my 5/8" can. Doubt there is enough meat tho. Even pruned back to 20" or very end of the flutes.

Yes on the brake. Shaen installed one of his.....works great. Absolutely no issues with the bolt face and it feeds and cycles flawlessly. The photo of the magazine is a standard long magnum magazine with a factory hornady 147 eldm seated in it. PLENTY of room to shoot any length bullet you wish.

Online stated my local Sportsman’s has a LH Superlite in stock….hmmmm

Left a Benchmade in a gut pile like a dumb ass. Gonna make a 3 hr round trip drive and a 4 mile Walkabout today. I’ll stop into Sportsman’s. I’m generally not too compulsive and get Analysis Paralysis to the max. If that rifles in stock…might come home w me

See.....the Good Idea Fairy showed up in my head in less than a day....The price of the machine work doesn't turn me off at all.

But that's $1600 total. For $1650 I can walk out the door with the FFT Mesa ready to roll. With a Trigger Tech trigger.

Crap shoot which one will shoot better.

Why not just get a new 6.5PRC barrel spun up for your current Tikka? Then you can have the exact length and twist you want, and only be out maybe $600.

Cuz it's already a RockStar and shoots great. I have lots of brass and great dies.

I have almost no short barreled rigs in my stable. A 21" 223 Ackley is it. And I love it.

ok so if i got a tikka t3x lite lefty in 7rm or 300wm and replaced the barrel with a proof carbon 6.5 prc prefit into a mesa altitude stock, basically with the factory magnum long action mag it would work fine?

i thought a wsm as a donor action would work fine but it seems the internal mag dimensions are 2.830 vs hornady 143 eldx at 2.945. guess i could get a magnum length magazine and bolt stop but a little more work and expense vs just buying the 7 or 300wm.
