I have been searching and reading peoples recommendations for layering system on this forum and have done extensive looking at all the different companies trying to figure out what falls in the category i need and what company also offers clothing to fit me. heres what ive come up with so far, just wanted some criticism from experienced hunters. ill add i have never been on a elk hunt.
base layer- SKRE Kaibab 150 1/4 zip top and zip off/on bottoms merino blend. will be several day adventure so wanna keep smell down and have faster drying with blend.
mid layer- peloton 97 zip tee
peloton 240 full zip hoodie
puffy-SKRE Ptarmigan
rain- kuiu yukon
as far as i know we wont be doing a ton of backpacking, mostly horses but im sure will need to do some walking and climbing to stalk at some point. im a kind of guy if im moving im sweating, i run a little hot.
feel free to make suggestions if you think i need to change something up or add more
because i run hot and im a big guy none of the pants fit so i plan to wear the skre base bottoms and jeans with some yukon gaiters
