I recently purchased a Labradar and spent some time trying to figure out what to do for a case. I wasn't big on the soft case that is offered through Labradar. I decided to use a Pelican 1520 and just thought I'd share if anyone else is trying to figure out what to do for a case and/or what size case to get. I picked up the case pretty cheap on eBay and used Cabela's gun case replacement foam. That foam was like half the price of the actual Pelican 1520 replacement foam cut to size. I think it ended up being about $70 when it was all said and done.

I use a small computer bag. I already carry too many cases to the range and the ability to sling it over my shoulder is great. If I needed extra protection, I could put the whole bag inside a Pelican, Anvil, or Haliburton case.

Looks great, out of curiosity, what battery packs are you using?

The ones I'm using are some cheap jobs from Amazon. The look and specifications match that of the Labradar (though I think they just released a new battery pack that is different). I was assuming that these were probably the exact same units only rebranded. I figured for $12 a piece I wouldn't be out much. I bought two units but I really can't see where I'll ever need both. I've used the Labradar for hours and have never saw the battery indicator move down to even 75%. The units are "Aibocn Power Bank 10,000mAh External Battery Charger" and you can find them at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A08K178/ref=twister_B07BY8RRF4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I could see where that would be convenient. Protection was priority number one for me. If I didn't put it in a hard case I'm almost certain it would have got busted at some point. Also, at my range, I have the ability to back my truck right up to the firing line. Since I can so that I don't really have to worry about carrying it anywhere that I'd need to sling it.

I lucked into an old first gen Pelican thanks to a buddy, and got my new Labradar squared away with some $35 foam from eBay. Maiden voyage for the Labradar coming today.
