All,
I need some feedback on this shirt. I have the 145 1/4 zip ultra merino long sleeve and I like it; bought it for an upcoming elk hunt in September. But I hunt Nevada archery season in August the majority of the time and I think the 145 will be too hot.

Is the ultra tiburon shirt worth it? Is it really more breathable than the merino? Should I do a 125 merino instead? A 130 pelaton?

Yes. It's definitely worth it. Great shirt that has great stretch and is incredibly breathable. I'd do the lightest Peleton short sleeve under it in the mornings.

i think youre just fine with the 145 half zip for both the elk and nevada hunt. i have the tiburon top, 145 merino, 125 merino and 130 peloton top and the shirt i wear the least is the tiburon. im usually hunting in high 80s/90 degree heat and when wearing it as a base layer for me it doesnt breathe well enough when hiking plus it doesnt soak up perspiration either. so as a result i find my back drenched in sweat and feel clammy, its even worse with a pack on. the merino and peloton will soak up the perspiration and so i run much more comfortable. i do like the tiburon top as a lightweight 2nd layer. for our climate its perfect for that. for merino I like the 145 vs the 125 because the half zip helps you dump a ton of heat even though the 125 is supposed to be lighter and cooler, the 20 gram difference is hardly noticeable. in merino vs peloton id rank the 130 peloton a little cooler than the merino, but it will stink quicker if you are on a backpack hunt. high 90s with no wind though i will wear the peloton its the most comfortable when its really hot. it dries really quickly too so if theres a a chance of showers on a dayhunt thats my choice. sizing wise i wear XL in all the tops, the peloton though is a touch snugger than the other tops. thats what ive found with their base layers hope that helps

Thanks everyone for the solid info!

What are you thoughts on this: A pelaton 130 short sleeve with the pelaton arm warmers? In August, I really only need the long sleeve for covering up bright white arms on a archery stalk. I'm thinking that set up would be better than the Tiburon.
