So which piece would you buy if you were only going to buy one? I want both but also want to buy a Peloton 240 full zip.

I have the 275 Strong Fleece and the heaviest full-zip Peleton. I love the Strong Fleece and will buy another. Initially I liked the Peloton, but durability isn’t good at all. At all. I won’t buy another.

I’ve got the peloton 240 and heavy strongfleece. The strongfleece to me is a much more substantial layer. There isn’t quite as much to the peloton 240 as I thought there would be.

The SF 275 will take you to lower temperatures which can be worth the additional 4 ounces. However, look at your use case(s) and other pieces of gear. If you are already bringing a down jacket for insulation, you may be able to get by with the SF 235.

The Peloton 240 offers negligible warmth but does a pretty good job at cutting the wind.

I have the 280 Strong fleece (which I guess they don’t make anymore?) and I also have the 240 peloton vest.
The vest is great at cutting the wind but is not very warm.
The strong fleece reminds me of the underarmour hoodies. Same feel and warmth.
I really like the strong fleece the peloton….eh, but I don’t know what the reason is that you want the peloton jacket.

Interesting. I've had to 200 Peleton for a long time, probably 7 years or so. I wear it on nearly every hunt with zero durability issues. Sure, it's got a few pulls but nothing substantial. I preferred my 200 over the strongfleece I had. The strongfleece was almost shiny in the light and I didn't care for that at all.

Looking for a non bulky mid layer. I hate bulky clothes…I will sit and be somewhat chilly (not uncomfortably) rather than put on a bulky coat. Lots of nonbulky layers when I dress for cold

If you are looking for "non bulky" the 190 zip t is a better option than either. The 190 is an excellent mid layer in all conditions. It is lighter, less bulky and breathes better. The 190 will fit comfortably under any outer layer whereas the 275 is almost like a jacket itself

Don't know if you decided but I wanted to throw a curveball into the mix. I have the Strongfleece 235 hoodie. I loved it. Except when I showed up to a PRS match when the forecast was supposed to be 60º and it turned out to be 43º and mid-50s at its warmest. I didn't quite hold up as well as I'd like in keeping me comfortable until later in the day when temps warmed. Since then, I've secured the Sitka Ambient 100 and 200. That Primaloft insulation is something special. The Strongfleece would definitely be a more durable piece, but if it's warmth and fit, I don't think there's anything on the market that provides that kind of warmth in that weight.

For comparison, I eventually also bought the Kuiu Kenai jacket. Maybe I was asking too much of it, but it was not very good for long stands in late whitetail season in NY. I only barely made it before calling it quits from the cold from a 4 hour outing. I understand I was mostly static, but it still didn't live up to the expectation.

It’s funny you say that because I’m not sure Kuiu has it down for the northeast/midwest whitetail hunter just yet.
I love Kuiu, and they’re getting close, but I believe they have to give in a little more in the light weight category, for insulation, and warmth, while sitting still stand hunting.

I’ve been eyeing an Ambient 100…I have a Kuiu Versa (discontinued) and that thing is stupid warm for it weight. You just made my mind up on the Ambient 100 for sure.

Does it run true to size?
