Going to be buying some and want to be sure I get the right size. Attack pants and Guide pants and a Guide jacket. Im 6ft 175-180lbs. Im thinking L Jacket and Med pants. In jeans im between 34's and 36's 36's I definatley need a belt otherwise they are falling off for sure. Some 34's are fairly tight. But with any luck I will shed another 5+lbs before next season. Opinions??

All my jackets had to go up a size to fit comfortably. Normally I'm a 2xl, but with Kuiu, it's all 3 xl. Can't help on the pants except to say my Sitka pants are 2xl and plenty big.

Kuiu definitely has an athletic fit, I'm 5'8" 180, wear a med shirt. A medium kuiu fits me as base layer only, a large is comfortable for everyday wear. My med superdown jacket can go under my med rain jacket. If anything I would size up one level.

I think the pants are labeled with waist sizes and are true to fit. I wear 34's normally and 34's Kuiu fit good. Coats I run XL @ 6' 200lbs. L seems like your size.

These are only guidelines as Kuiu's sizing is notoriously inconsistent. Most people size up on the Kenai and down on the Alpines by a full size. Haven't heard anything on the sizing of the Teton line yet. Pelaton is about a half size small so depending on how their other stuff fits and if you want a tight fit you may consider sizing up.

I've had a lot of stupid sizing issued that directly contradict the "athletic fit" claim. Tib shirt was too tight in the forearm; I have really long arms and am tall (31"+ draw length) so this may be the cause. Tib pants were way too tight in the hips and thighs. 200 Merino Zip-off bottoms were too small in the calf and I couldn't get them zipped. You probably won't have any of these issues, but thought I'd mention them.

As far as pant size, I'd usually rather be a size up and wear a belt but I really hat it when it's huge. With the guide pants I'd say this is more true as they won't stretch as much.

You're close to my twin in size I'm a little taller but the weight and waist size is exactly the same. I have attacks chinooks and guides all in 36. My chughach pants are a large and fit over any of those fine. I went with an xl guide jacket and with a Guide vest in l it's still a touch big but personally I prefer a little looser fit.

So do the size 36's fit fairly loose?? Could you wear 34's?

I think so. I'd rather have a little more room in the thigh and I have a 38" inseam and my bet is the 36 waist are a little longer maybe not I just haven't tried Kuiu 34" waist. The inseam length on my pants is fine. The older Canadian made ones I have in the guide and attack came unhemmed which was perfect. The newer attacks and chinooks are fine as well. They rise a little when kneeling or sitting but I usually wear gaiters anyway so length isn't as critical.

I went to the store and tried everything on. I have a 34 in waist, the 34 pants were tight tight, the 36 are great. I am 6'3" 225 and the XL guide jacket was perfect around the chest and stomach but was too tight in the shoulders and arms. 2x was great. I don't know if the pair of pants I purchased were the rule or the exception but they will attract every burr, weed and twig you walk through. After a very short time they look like they could be combed. They remind me of woolly chaps. They snag on everything, each time, it pulls a tread out. Kuiu said they would trade me but they didn't have any in stock. So I have that going for me.

Take a soft tape and measure around your waist and pull it to how tight you want the attacks and guides to fit. Order that size. If you are like me 6'1" 210 big thighs hips and glutes you may consider the high side. My waist measures 35" with a soft tape. I wore 34 attacks for two years and they fit great but didn't have much room. Wasn't far from a women's yoga pant fit. I now have alpine pants in 34 but they pit like my friends 36 attack pants. Jacket I used to have a 2XL guide and it was a nice loose casual fit so I bet you will be the same fit in XL or if you like a tighter jacket fit go L. Some of the jacket fit will depend on your shoulder width. If you normally have trouble in the shoulders go XL.

The alpine pants I got in 32 were more like a 34. Disappointing cuz I have to wear a belt with them which just bunches up the material and causes problems under the exhaustively of my pack. 32's in Sitka' s pants were spot on. I really like the alpine but it took me a few hunts to figure out that I should have ordered a smaller size. Anyone want them for 100$?

I had the same exact experience with 32's, they were HUGE. I just assumed they would fit like Attacks since they are the same brand......after my Hunt I called CS to give them the feedback their sizing was extremely off on them. They let me know it was room for layering......an extra 2 inches is entirely too much. Really turned me off to Kuiu, I was very suprised to have an experience like that. Apparantly that's the norm.

I had mine tailored, take it from me better to sell them, that's too much material to take in.

Had the same experience with no explanation on the 200 bottoms and they just told me that if they didn't fit my calves than neither would the 145s with no acknowledgement that the sizing was stupid. I had even sized up as I had heard they were small, and when I asked if going even one more size up would work they said no matter what size you get the calf is the same size. Seems kind of stupid as I know for a fact my calf (which souldn't fit in an XL) is WAYYY bigger than someone that would wear a medium.

OK, so I did the soft tape as they say to do on the size chart and according to their waist measurements (measuring just above belly button) I'm a size 36. But by the hip measurement I'm definitely a Med or 34. So what do you go by? I know I don't wear my pants Grandpa style over my belly button so the hip size seems more logical to me.

Go by the hip measurement right where you would wear the waist band of your pants. Unless you have 28" + thighs they will fit great.

I too am wondering about sizing for the attack pants and various jackets. Wear a 35" waist, 6'-4", 225 pounds. Called Kuiu but the girl wasn't very helpful.

Fireguy measure your waist with a soft tape as described above. Order that size KUIU pant. If in between it a personal preferance on fit. Typical pant waist sizes are not a good gauge some are right on and some are 2-3" smaller than the measure.

I'm 6'0' and 205, athletic type build big legs and ass. My waist measures 32 inches and I wear a size 35 in loose cut jeans. I do not like a compression or skinny type fit at all. I want my pants to have some room in them. Sitka Mountain pants 36 fits, Kryptek Alaios 38, Kuiu Attack 36. The Attack fit my about perfect and I don't need a belt with them. Need a belt with both the Mountain pant and Alaios. The 34 in an Attack would have fit me like a pair of football pants.

So I ordered a Guide jacket in Large and both Guide pants and Attacks in 36. I was going to go with 34s in Attacks and 36s in Guides just to be sure late season layering wouldnt be an issue but they had 0 Attacks in 34 so I just got both in 36. I also tried on my brothers 36s and they were only slightly big, not super baggy but would need a belt so I should be ok, atleast till I shed some more weight. Anyone have any idea on how fast the shipping will be if ordered today and shipping to my location in Washington State??? Hoping they show up before I leave for my late elk hunt next Tuesday.
