How's it going, im new to this board, discovered it while looking up Kuiu clothing. Happy to be here. What im wondering is why such a biased view on kuiu gear? I just ordered and received my new guide jacket, and chinook pants the other day. The quality seems to be good. But I see a lot of negative reviews about it on this board, if its bad, what would be better gear to look into? Sitka is way to expensive, thats why I went with kuiu.

I don't think it is so much the gear that causes the reaction as it is the founder of the business. Seems to rub some the wrong way.

Also seems to be more directed at the packs, not so much they clothing. Welcome by the way.

I think their clothing is amazing gear. Pretty nice stuff. First lite makes amazing stuff too!

I like first lite merino.

Really like the kuiu attack pants. And the rain wear is top notch.

Some people just like to argue I guess. I have a bunch of Kuiu gear...the only downside to me is that their clothing has a bit more of an athletic fit which at times can feel constricting to me. That and I don't think their merino wool is as comfortable as First Lite. Other than that, I love their product line and I also dig their camo patterns.

Love all their pants. Except Chinooks, haven't tried them yet.
Hate their lack of inventory.

I bought these based off good reviews, before I found this sight. Then I found a lot of somewhat negative reviews here. So far, I really like the gear, seems like great quality. I'll be trying it this weekend on an elk hunt, see how it holds up in the field. Thanks for the replies. The bad part, is their lack of inventory. Had to settle for a medium jacket. Other thank fitting a little snug, its not to bad.

People here don't really have anything bad to say about their clothing, company practices - yes, some things they can do better at on that front.
Their other gear that is not clothing related hasn't gotten a good reception here and for good reason - based on hard field use their packs and tents aren't up to the standards that other companies have set for deep backcountry use.

I have tried their guide pants and jacket, which I really like, and I really like their attack pants.
I have tried some of their merino shirts which I don't like so much as they get a weird funk smell when wet and not near as comfortable as other offerings.

I've used their clothing the last two years and I haven't had any complaints.
